For more than 50 years, the Oceanic Society has been working to connect people to the ocean and build a movement dedicated to solving the key ocean problems of our time — plastic pollution, unsustainable fishing & aquaculture, and climate change. The goal is to improve ocean health by addressing the root cause of its decline: human behavior.
Oceanic Society is America’s oldest non-profit organization dedicated to ocean conservation. Oceanic Society leads the only globally focused sea turtle conservation program, fulfilling a need in sea turtle conservation that was previously unmet. The Oceanic Society partners with and support thousands of individuals and institutions to improve sea turtle science, set priorities for research and conservation, and provide needed resources to conservation projects.
